Indian Head Massage relieves tiredness and tension,
will leave you feeling refreshed and alert and is suitable for all ages.
What happens during a treatment:
Following a short consultation, massage using various pressures and techniques is applied to the upper back and arms, shoulders, neck, scalp and face.
I do not use oils.
You would remain fully clothed sat on a chair for the whole treatment.
The actual massage time is 30 minutes, but allow 45 minutes to an hour
Be prepared for the fact that some of the massage will be quite firm - it can be quite an odd sensation to have your skull massaged, for example - but stick with it. You will feel really relaxed and serene afterwards. The results are worth it.
Immediate relief to tense shoulder and back muscles, reduced stress, calm clear mind, improving alertness, concentration and productivity.
Contraindications to be aware of:
I can not treat anyone presenting high temperature or fever
suffering from diarrhoea or vomiting that day
under the influence of recreational drugs or alcohol.
Anyone who has had recent hemorrhage, metal plates, recent operations, thrombosis, dysfunction of the nervous system, and epilepsy.
It is not advisable to offer Indian head massage in the first trimester of a pregnancy,
where there is alopecia (a hair loss condition),
diabetes (because of poor skin sensation)
Advice before treatment:
Wear loose-fitting clothing, so that you don't feel restricted or uncomfortable. It's a good idea not to have too many layers. As I need access to massage your neck and shoulders, avoid polo necks or high collars. A simple cotton T-shirt is ideal.
It is best not to wear hair products, such as hairspray, mousse or gel on the treatment day and to bring a brush/comb to tidy your hair after. I do not use oils, it is just the hairstyle gets ruffled up.
Make sure you do not eat a heavy meal or consume alcohol just before your appointment.
After treatment:
It is advised to drink water or herbal tea the rest of the day to help flush toxins and rehydrate.
Avoid caffeine ie. Tea, Coffee, Cola also to avoid alcohol as this would just counteract the effectiveness of the treatment.
To relax, rest and enjoy the release from tension and stress for the rest of the day.
